Sentence: Alf, now friendless because of his winnebeego ways, is reduced to travelling the dusty roads of the outback in his Winnebago, all the while on his ultimate quest searching for the original black stump. He just can't help himself though because he argues with each "local" who gives him duhrections to find it. I even heard that he had a hot debate with the dog on the tucker box about it's location!

Beyond the black stump is a favourite old Aussie saying. It basically means beyond the back blocks, far off in the backcountry, far from civilization. For the curious the history of the saying is in this link: http://www.abc.net.au/queensland/heritage/stories/s680695.htm
