Backteriology

Created by: silveryaspen

Pronunciation: back tear y all o gee (more pun fun)

Sentence: No one likes the backruptcy of second thoughts that disturb your judgement of the second peace, and put you in a judgement daze. Is this back behavior akin to bad behavior? Probably!!! And it's more dangerous to your mental health, too. Nearly all people have been afflicted with second thoughts, at some time or another. The second-psysightchiatrists are always trying to analyze this ask-back-words, all pervasive condition, among all humans. They have named it backteriology.

Etymology: First there is the very obvious homonymous pun on bacteriology. As bacteriology is the study of bacteria, BACKTERIOLOGY is the study (the OLOGY) of the BACK lash of those deleTERIOous and posTERIOr (after/secondary) thoughts, of previous decisions. /// Oh yes, as you surmised, ask-back-words is definitely a play on assbackwards! Sadly, the second-psysightchiatrists, like the rest of us, still haven't found a way to snatch-back-words, so it is an incurable condition.

Aftermythoughts

Created by: kateinkorea

Pronunciation: AF ter myth OUGHTS

Sentence: “Growing up in a circus was exciting, but not so good for meeting the opposite sex. So I didn’t learn much about dating. I shouldn’t have listened to Ted and Bob. They insisted that if I took Molly, from school, on a first date for a little stroll on the tightrope, followed by a quick little shot out of the cannon, and finally a little socializing with the freaks and geeks, that she’d fall for me, see stars and fit right in. How could I know they were messing with me? Nothing but a disaster! What was I thinking? My aftermythoughts are that I should have gotten help with my date plans from someone else. I trusted those guys. But it’s too late now. Molly ran out of here so fast that she didn’t even get to meet my parents: the Tall Man and the Bearded Lady. I’ll never ask Ted and Bob for advice on dating again. What can you expect from a couple of clowns like that?”

Etymology: AFTER + MYTH + OUGHTS + or AFTER + MY + THOUGHTS (and AFTERMATH + AFTERTHOUGHTS) MYTH: something that is believed (usually by many) but that does not exist or is false OUGHTS: what should have been done AFTERMATH: the situation that exists as a result of an important (and usually unpleasant) event, an accident, etc., AFTERTHOUGHT: a thing that is thought of, said or added later, and is often not carefully planned MY:

Grindecision

Created by: Nosila

Pronunciation: grin dee sis shun

Sentence: It was picture day at college and Wendy was posing in front of a mirror,in her cap and gown, trying to decide what angle was her most flattering. She was not sure whether to look serious, because she had earned her degree and hoped to get an impressive job. Or whether she should smile and show off her expensive dental work and happy nature. She opted for the smile and figured it would help open doors for her at prestigious companies. She thought her charisma would sell to employers and attract the big-money firms. The ceremony was not until after lunch on that extremely hot day and the photos were just before the commencement activities. She posed, but the photographer was too quick. When she got her proofs back the next week, she woefully regretted her grindecision. "OMG, who is going to hire me now??" she asked herself. Her photo was slightly out of focus, her eyes were closed, her hair frizzed, her mascara starting to slide down her face, her lipstick a bit smeared, one earring missing and her real gold pendant had left a nice green ring around her neck. Her front teeth (top & bottom) housed large pieces of the spinach in the salad she had for lunch. The goofy smile she offered just added to the affect that she had inherited traits that made her look like a cross between a sweaty mime, with clown hair and shiny make-up and a toothless bumpkin! She dearly hoped they offered re-takes...soon!

Etymology: Grin (to smile or show amusement) & Indecision (doubt concerning two or more possible alternatives or courses of action; the trait of irresolution; a lack of firmness of character or purpose)
