Tranceportation

Created by: ScrabbledEgg

Pronunciation: trans-per-tay-shuhn

Sentence: Monday morning. Coiffed, clean-shaven, & caffeinated. He looked alert-crisp even- as he took his seat; yet within minutes the familiar cadence of the commuter train put him into a deep state of tranceportation. People and places blurred past his opened yet unfocused eyes. Thoughts wandered through his open yet unfocused mind. As his railcar hurtled forward, dragging him and his fellow captors closer to the monotony awaiting them, he tranceported himself further and further back through his all too quick weekend.

Etymology: trance + transportation

Stunrun

metrohumanx

Created by: metrohumanx

Pronunciation: STUN-ruhn

Sentence: Although Bruce was fortified with a triple king-sized coffee and a fistful of No-doze, he was not looking forward to the morning STUNRUN. Reading was out of the question... the last time he tried that, he woke up at the end of the line with creases on his face. As he watched the bleak byways of industrial desolation crawl by, he remembered a STUNRUN he took a while back. Catching himself in a commuter's REM state, he hastily got off at the wrong stop and found himself in an unfinished, uninhabited proto-terminal in the Hackensack Marshlands. He wore out his patent leather Florsheim shoes that grim day just walking back to the fringes of civilization, and he wasn't eager to repeat that particular nighmare anytime soon. Getting home at the end of the day was bad enough, but the morning STUNRUN was just marginally more fun than a bone marrow transplant. And today was only MONDAY!

Etymology: STUN+RUN=STUNRUN.....stun: to make senseless, groggy, or dizzy by or as if by repeated blows-Middle English stonen, stunen, from Anglo-French estoner .....run: the distance covered in a period of continuous traveling or commuting b: a course or trip especially if traveled with regularity-
