Pronunciation: sham-wow-ee-zow-ee
Sentence: "Shamwowiezowie!" cried Marta when she opened the box. She was hoping for a ring this year but when she opened her gift from Ralph she found a ShamWow (as seen on TV). Through her teeth, she managed to thank him and convince him that she had been wanting one ever since she saw the commercial. Though her lips said, "Thanks," her mind said, "You'll be gone by New Year's, Buster!"
Etymology: sham: making deceitful pretenses; fakery + wowie zowie: an exclamation of amazement and joy, often said sarcastically; 1966 track by Frank Zappa "Wowie Zowie, baby, your love's a treat" the song was done tongue in cheek as a parody of many of the teen love songs of the time
