Melancollie
Created by: mrskellyscl
Pronunciation: mel-lan-col-lie
Sentence: Jake, a border collie, hated being left behind and felt melancollie and dejected. So the highly intelligent and talented dog who could control a flock of sheep or geese with just a look, would also use his stare to control his owner, making her feel very guilty for leaving him.
Etymology: melancholy: tending to promote sadness and gloom + collie: herding dog originating from the British Isles - Border Collies in particular have a distinct "gaze" that they use to control sheep, geese, children or anything that moves (except for cats, who stare back at them and refuse to be herded)

Petyouglance
Created by: Nosila
Pronunciation: pet u glans
Sentence: Petula could not help the fact that she had to go out to work every day. She just had to in order to pay for the upkeep of her many pets. That did not stop them from sending a petyouglance her way everytime she came home. Her school of fish focussed their pupils on her. Rabbit Redford gave her a petyouglance anytime she came near his Starsky InHutch. Her pooches, Bob Barker, Mutt Damon and Angela Bassett became her all-seeing-eye dogs. Her cats: Meow Tse Tung, Mick Jaguar, Cheetah Rivera and Leopardo Di Catprio could catapult her into a cataclysm with their accusacatory looks. Her reptiles: Myrtle Turtle, Jose Gecko, Sally Mander, Boa Dicea, Cybill Serpent and Slither N. Yawn, all looked at her cold-bloodedly. And of course, her pet birds, Peter Finch, Walter Pigeon, Perry Keet and Polly Wannacracker not only gave her those sidelong looks, they also squawked their disapproval. Poor Petula, those petyouglances petrified her!
Etymology: Pet (a domesticated animal kept for companionship or amusement;a fit of petulance or sulkiness (especially at what is felt to be a slight) preferred above all others and treated with partiality) & You (yourself; 2nd person singular/plural) & Glance (look at) & rhymes with Petulance (easily irritated or annoyed state)
