If you were an impartial observer, you'd wonder who was smarter: a cat who did whatever it wanted all day long with no accountability or pressures or the stupid human who raced home from a hard day at work to strain poop out of kitty litter, fill up the food bowl and put clean water in a dish and then hope the animal you did all that for would grace you with a purr or tummy rub offer or rub against your legs. Yep, cats aren't the stupid ones, are they??
