Lumenflummoxed
Created by: readerwriter
Pronunciation: loo-muhn-fluhm-muhcs-t
Sentence: The moon was full when Brianne, President of the local Scooby Doo Fan Club, and Connie, the VP, parked their car at the bottom of the darkened hillside. The moon was full and, after a few tokes, they determined this was the night they would make it up the creepy drive to view the old Greymoor Mansion, rumoured to be haunted. It was a hike, but, just as they rounded the bend and caught sight of the enormous stone ediface, a cloud moved across the sky blocking the moon. They screamed and jumped, turning at the same time, intending to run full speed down the hill. Instead, their heads collided. Sitting on the ground, they stared, lumenflummoxed, at the stars circling their heads. "Out of sight," they in unison. The cloud moved on and the gods laughed.
Etymology: From LUMEN, for light +FLUMMOX, confused

Concusstellation
Created by: Nosila
Pronunciation: kon kus stel lay shun
Sentence: Brain Injury researchers,Dr. Gene Yuss and his assistant, Dr.Sara Bellum had been working on their thesis that the more often you bonked someone's cranium, the more stars that they could see. They had even gotten grants from NASA to pursue their concusstellation theory. They worked very hard at hitting each other on the head to test their theory. The only problem with their work was that you could only do it so long before you died or got permanent damage, so we'll never know what their final findings actually were. No wonder NASA also looks for evidence of intelligent life forms on other planets...
Etymology: Concussion (injury to the brain caused by a blow) & Constellation (a configuration of stars as seen from the earth)

Astrogliaology
Created by: Nosila
Pronunciation: Ass tro leea olo gee
Sentence: Dr. Sara Brum and Dr. Cy Napps were doing research into the newly emerging field of Astrogliaology, which they had stumbled on by accident in their lab and immediately filed for patent. Their experiments were based on the theory that if the brain were subjected to enough blunt trauma that one could cross dimensions and grant one divination by the constellations. In other words, you could see stars. Loosely based on the Zodiac, these inner stars would be renamed: Pisces=Pia; Aries=Axon; Taurus=Temporal;Gemini=Gyrus; Cancer=Cortex; Leo=Lobes; Virgo=Ventricle; Libra=Limbic; Scorpio=Skull; Sagittarius=Suprachiasmatic; Capricorn=Cranium & Aquarius=Amygdala. The possibilities were endless...the good doctors envisioned millions of suggestable people paying large sums to have the stars in their heads read. Their Astrogliaology Techniques could be taught at Star Trek Conventions and Pschyic Fairs. The only downside to their theorum was the fact that one-too-many trips to the inner galaxies might leave some of their clients even more brain-dead than they already were...
Etymology: Astroglia (a type of glial cell that supports neurons;tissue consisting of large stellate neuroglial cells in the brain) & Astrology (a pseudoscience claiming divination by the positions of the planets and sun and moon)
