I liked cusinecide even better than cesserole ... but that's only cause I'm so easily grossed out. Today's definition certainly led to a lot of verboticisms that can do that! - silveryaspen, 2008-01-14: 18:48:00
great words! Ugh, I'm grossed out too. - bananabender, 2008-01-14: 19:56:00

Terramisu

Sentence: People love to invite Ruth to their parties. She is witty and funny. They did however learn their lesson about inviting her to a pot luck dinner. She brought what she referred to as tiramisu. Her fellow party goers called it terramisu. Being the creative person she is, Ruth did some substituting when she found herself short a few ingredients, hotdog buns for the lady fingers, tea for the coffee, and cottage cheese for the mascarpone. The final touch of chocolate chips subbing for powdered chocolate made it look like her dessert was infested with bugs. Everybody told Ruth how **interesting** her treat looked but nobody was brave enough to try a single bite.
Etymology: terror or terrible (your choice) + tiramisu (an Italian dessert consisting of layers of sponge cake soaked in coffee and brandy or liqueur with powdered chocolate and mascarpone cheese)

Guesstronomy
Created by: Nosila
Pronunciation: gess tron om mee
Sentence: Rose and Herb always hated being invited to her sister, Saffron's, for dinner. They enjoyed her company, but hated her cooking. Saffron had a knack for combining inedible and unpalatable concoctions. She did not believe in throwing out food and so she "used" up whatever had withered/expired/gone bad in her fridge, freezer or cupboards to make her ghastly meals. She often added critters and noxious plants she found around the neighbourhood to the mix. To make matters worse, guests had to guess what was in these creations. Saffron joked that this was her Guesstronomy skills at work. Any one who survived their hospital visits after her cooking refused to return. Wishing to spare her feelings, Rose & Herb pretended to eat, but never did actually partake of these horrible repasts. They thought Saffron should become an Army cook, in an enemy's army! Sam & Ella, Toe Maine, Steph Infection, Mr. E. Coli and Bott Chewlism were the only other guests that attended these feasts and they always came back for more!
Etymology: Guess (an estimate based on little or no information; a message expressing an opinion based on incomplete evidence) & Gastronomy (the art and practice of choosing and preparing and eating food)
