Pronehoundsiation

Created by: Nosila

Pronunciation: prone hownd see ashun

Sentence: Maggie used pronehoundsiation when speaking to her pet dogs. She was sure they had a simpler grasp of our language and therefore litterally spoke to all of them as though they were stupid, hard of hearing and/or impervious to the teasing of other pets. Her schmoogie-woogie Schnauzer; her oodly-noodly Poodle; her chewzie-woozie Chihuahua; her orky-dorky Yorky and her musky-wusky Husky were all equally embarrassed by her linguistic torture. So they made a pact, every time Maggie used her verbal offensives on them, they would respond in cat-talk. When she used her endearments on them, they would reply with various impersonations of "Meow" "Mew" "Yowww" "SSSSSSSSSSS" and "NoooWWWWW". Maggie was so impressed that she bragged to her friends that her dogs had become bilingual. Isn't that itty, bitty, kitty nifty??? Who's feline better?

Etymology: Pronunciation (the manner in which someone utters a word)& Hound ( any of several breeds of dog)

Agreed. I'm pretty new here, too. A lot of these people are out for blood, so watch your back. Fair warning, and welcome, comrade. - Clayton, 2007-06-08: 13:11:00

Don't listen to Clayton, he's feeling a bit petkish today. We're all fine verbfolk! Welcome aboard! - purpleartichokes, 2007-06-08: 14:12:00

I'm pretty new here, too, and so far I'm enamored with the experience. It's a great chance to use words differently and reshape the language to suit the ever-present specter of urban lifestyle with which it has yet be afflicted. Plus we can use words good! It's great silly fun for people who love communicating, too. And I think Clayton's just ribbing you, these are great folks. - jadenguy, 2007-06-08: 15:09:00

Just being silly, of course. And trying to psych out some of the competition. - Clayton, 2007-06-08: 16:28:00

Great word! - Stevenson0, 2007-06-09: 10:16:00

Mortifidoraptus

metrohumanx

Created by: metrohumanx

Pronunciation: MORT-IH-FIE-DOE-RAP-TUSS

Sentence: Flo was a volunteer at the animal shelter and a professional dog walker. Although her new pit bull puppy looked like a naked mole rat, she was fond of showing it off in public. Her friends humored her until she was inexplicably siezed by MORTIFIDORAPTUS and began cooing and speaking in slobbering tongues to the clearly embarrased doglet. Everyone had to look away and stifle snickers. Others just walked away, while some cast aspersions at her descent into irritating anthropomorphism. Imploring her to stop had no effect - the gibberish just intensified into a pungent mishmash of ootsycutesyisms. Flo just tossed her head back indignantly and was last seen heading haughtily towards a hydrant, MORTIFIDORAPPING all the way.

Etymology: MORTIFIED:humiliated + FIDO: legendary generic verbotomistic canine-american of yore + RAPTUS: a state of being carried away by overwhelming emotion = MORTIFIDORAPTUS............... Variations: [ mortifidorapture, mortifidoraptism, mortifidorapmusic, mortifidoraptologist ] yadda yadda yadda
